I love fall shopping. I've never really been one to go for the bold colors or patterned dresses of summer. Aside from stripes and plaid, I tend to favor solid neutrals. Nearing the end of summer, I often find myself in a bit of a rut, stuck on basic silhouettes and lightweight fabrics (cue silk, chiffon and linen). Fall always seems to breathe new life into my closet with the introduction of seasonal textures. Flannel shirts, cashmere scarves, wool jackets, cable knit sweaters and quilted vests? Swoon. I love it all. An array of textures assures that I'm never short on options for creating variety in my everyday styles.

My favorite recent purchases include this incredibly soft and easy-to-style flannel shirt. I've also been wearing this solid white (and striped!) long sleeve shirt on repeat. This week I picked up the most flattering wool jacket from J.Crew in black - never thought I'd be excited for winter weather. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of heels... easier said than done!
